Labor & Delivery
Weber Maternity is a cozy unit with 15 private suites for you and your support person and doula. You will have plenty of room to walk around during labor, experience uninterrupted skin to skin, recover and remain in the same room throughout your stay.
If your baby is welcomed by a cesarean section, you will experience the same skin to skin as soon as your newborn is assessed by the Neonatal Nurse Specialist. Your baby may even be ready to breastfeed in the operating room! If you desire to see your baby's first moment, our surgical drape has a clear window so you can watch the delivery. Your support person will remain at your side throughout the cesarean birth.
Registration
As your delivery date approaches, you'll be contacted by the Weber Maternity Unit Coordinator to register. You'll need your insurance information available. If you go into labor before pre-registering, we'll assist you upon arrival.
Where to Go
If you believe you're in active labor and it's between 7am - 8pm, you can utilize the main entrance. If it's after 8pm please utilize the Emergency Care Center entrance.
When you arrive to the unit, we'll evaluate you in our triage unit. Once we've identified you're in active labor, you'll be brought to your LDRP suite where you'll have the complete attention of your own private nurse throughout your entire labor and delivery.
Amenities
During labor, you have access to aromatherapy, music therapy, and massage in addition to the use of birthing balls, walking and a hydrotherapy tub to make you as comfortable as possible.
We find that laboring persons feel more at ease when they have a support person or doula during labor and delivery. We also allow up to two people to remain in the room with you.
Skin-to-Skin Contact
Immediately after birth, our nurses will quickly place your newborn directly on your bare chest to encourage bonding throughout the first hour—at least—of your baby’s life. We delay clinical interventions, but continue to monitor you and your baby’s health throughout the entire hour.
Skin-to-skin contact also helps to initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of life when infants are alert. Early breastfeeding leads to increased breastfeeding success.
For Family & Visitors
We strive to create a patient- and family-focused environment where the well-being of our patients and their loved ones is our top priority. We recognize the significant role that loved ones play in the healing process, which is why we welcome visitors while prioritizing the health and safety of everyone within our facility.
In our effort to promote patient health and healing, we implement quiet hours on the unit.
One (1) adult visitor at a time is allowed during visiting hours (4 p.m. – 8 p.m.)
We soften the lighting, turn on soothing music, reduce noise, and encourage maternal bonding and relaxation. Review our visiting hours and information for patients and visitors.
