Brain & Spine Services
We provide a range of hospital-based brain and spine services, and also partner with local experts in order to offer the best care possible to our patients. Our neuroscience services include a comprehensive multiple sclerosis (MS) center, neurosurgery capabilities, and a dedicated parkinson's disease program. Our neuroscience and MS services are provided in our specialty services Sturdy Plus office, located on the first floor of Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
Neurology
Neurology studies and treats disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists see patients with problems such as seizure disorders, stroke, headaches, coordination problems, and infections of the nervous system. Expert neurologists also deliver specialized care and services to people with multiple sclerosis in The MS Center.
Neurosurgery
Neurosurgery focuses on disorders that affect the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. Our affiliated neurosurgeons are board certified in neurosurgery and maintain their skills and knowledge of the latest medical techniques and equipment.
The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Center
The MS Center at Sturdy Memorial Hospital was established in 1995 to provide individualized, specialized, and coordinated care and services to people with MS. Our goals are to minimize the impact of the disease process and to support our patients and their families through their journey by maximizing each person’s physical and emotional well-being. The MS Center utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to optimally address the complex needs of people with MS.
Parkinson's Disease Program
The Parkinson's disease program includes exercise training dedicated to those with Parkinson's disease. Exercises are designed to improve balance and flexibility, as well as increase strength and energy. Our friendly environment also provides emotional support. LSVT BIG is a program that uses physical and occupational therapy to improve motor functioning, and the LVST LOUD program can help you with common speech problems.
