How do you approach care?
The way I approach care is by forming a relationship with each patient. Letting them know I understand what they are going through and making them feel comfortable and confident in what they are working on. I make sure to celebrate and point out progress and goals met, even if they seem small.
What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare and your specialty?
I have always felt the need to help people. Whether that be teaching or in healthcare. My education ended up leading me down the healthcare route, after back-and-forth consideration and mentoring in my college years.
Why did you choose to join Sturdy Health?
I chose to join Sturdy Memorial Hospital right after I graduated college in 2002. I had other positions at other companies for a few years, gaining experience and finding my niche, but I have always come back to join Sturdy Memorial Hospital. What kept me coming back was the people I work with and the work family that was created over my 20 years working in the field.
What are your personal interests?
My favorite hobby is interior design. I am currently working toward a certification in interior design at RISD. I find incredible joy in being creative and designing rooms whether in real life or just to scratch that itch of an idea I have and getting it down on paper. I have a husband and two daughters, and an old dog named Mason.
