How do you approach care?
I like to get to know the patient, their expectations of me, as well as their expectations of what a full recovery is to them. We see patients of all ages and capabilities.
What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare and your specialty?
My mother is a retired oncology RN and I know she loved the job she worked so hard at, even when her heart was breaking. It seemed the natural path for me. I have worked as an OR nurse for more than 25 years. As I completed my NP program close to 20 years ago, I worked closely with the orthopedic team and found myself employed by these specialists. It is a fulfilling field in many ways.
Why did you choose to join Sturdy Health?
I joined Sturdy Health recently. I have some special colleagues who I've known thru the years who have worked here for much of their careers. I have really enjoyed the people I work with and find the patient population exceptional.
What are your personal interests?
My number one personal interest is my family, my husband and our three teenage daughters. I love hiking, being outside in the mountains or on a beach, seeing the world, and our National Parks. Though we travel quite a bit, I find New England a perfect place to live—the White Mountains and National Seashore all within a two-hour drive! My pets include an active doodle-dog, chickens, a rabbit, and a guinea pig.
