Infusion Therapy
If you have a condition that does not respond well to oral medications, your doctor may prescribe infusion therapy. Infusion therapy uses intravenous medication administered through either a needle or a small catheter. Therapy sessions can range from 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on your medical need.
Infusion therapy is commonly used for cancer, gastrointestinal disorders including Crohns, dehydration, infections that don't respond to antibiotics, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, congestive heart failure, osteoporosis and more. Infusion therapy is also used for blood transfusions, platelets, biologics, immunotherapy and iron infusions.
Nurses who provide infusion therapy are certified oncology nurses and are well trained to provide you with exceptional care during your treatment.
