Thyra Matias. PA is a Physicians Assistant in orthopedic medicine at Sturdy Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Thyra was first introduced to orthopedics early in her life after sustaining an ACL injury while playing soccer in high school. She was treated by an excellent orthopedic team that inspired her to pursue orthopedic medicine in her career.
Thyra approaches patient care by encouraging lifestyle changes that prevent further harm. She encourages her patients to make their exercise and activity fun, and will provide patients with an understanding of what causes their pain and how to treat it appropriately.
At an appointment, patients can expect to be heard. Because each patient is different, Thyra adapts her care delivery to their unique needs and develops a treatment plan that best suits their lifestyle.
Thyra finds it rewarding helping people return to the lifestyle that they enjoy. She also likes seeing children get back to their sport after sustaining an injury, and helping individuals move pain free after surgery.
In her free time, Thyra enjoys spending her free time with her husband, daughter, and friends. She plays roller derby, belongs to a running club, and enjoys relaxing with yoga.
