How do you approach care?
My approach to care is an approach to the person, as one of the great things about medicine is the relationships that are formed. We are trying to solve health problems together or trying to keep people healthy. People come to me for themselves or their family due to my training and expertise, and they bring the experience of knowing themselves. Hopefully, together we can find the right solution to their problems.
What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare and your specialty?
Like all correct decisions there is not one event which inspired me to pursue medicine. It was the natural evolution of the decisions I made in my journey through life. Like most physicians I was good at science and math, and thus became a biochemistry major in college. Then, since I enjoyed research, I wanted to become a physician-scientist, and pursued my PhD. There I discovered my love of clinical medicine. I enjoy the challenge of internal medicine, of trying to solve the problem and the joy of pediatrics. The ability to play with my patients and have a innocent view of the world is a highlight of my day.
Why did you choose to join Sturdy Health?
I chose Sturdy Health as I was really impressed by my future colleagues and the possibility about working with them. Unlike most medical practices in the community, Sturdy Health physicians tend to pursue additional education beyond their medical degree.
What are your personal interests?
Amateur radio is my hobby.
