Women's Health Month: Kylie Bouley
This Women's Health Month, we are celebrating the incredible women who work tirelessly across our health system to improve the health and well-being of women everywhere.
Introducing Kylie Bouley, Clinical Nurse Manager at Sturdy Health:
1. Can you tell us a little about your role & how long you’ve been with Sturdy?
I am currently the Clinical Nurse Manager of our Maternity Services here at Sturdy Health. I first began my work with Sturdy about ten years ago as a registered nurse on a medical-surgical unit before following my passion for our wonderful obstetric services in Weber Maternity. I help lead an amazing group of nurses who are dedicated to delivering the best possible experience for birthing persons and their families.
2. Your work significantly advances the health of women, why is this is important to you?
I want to promote better health outcomes for birthing persons and infants by delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that is inclusive of each person’s desires and needs. Identifying inequities and disparities amongst populations aids in the appropriate management of perinatal conditions such as gestational diabetes, hemorrhage, and preeclampsia.
3. If you could share one piece of advice for women about their health, what would it be?
Your health is important. I think as women, we tend to put our health and wellness on the back burner to ensure others’ needs are met. Keeping yourself healthy as best you can during pregnancy, and following provider recommendations, will be essential to giving your baby the best start in life.
From scheduling regular checkups to living a healthy lifestyle, taking care of ourselves should always be a top priority. During Women's Health Month, let's educate ourselves on the common risks to our health, the symptoms to look out for, and when to seek medical attention. Knowledge is power, and knowing how to take care of ourselves is key to living a long and healthy life.
