Hospital Receives an 'A' in Fall 2020 Hospital Safety Grade

Sturdy Memorial Hospital was awarded an “A” grade in The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Grades for fall 2020, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries, and infections.

“It’s wonderful to be recognized by The Leapfrog Group,” says Joseph F. X. Casey, President & CEO of Sturdy. “Everyone in the organization—including physicians, nurses, other clinicians, ancillary and support staff, and the entire leadership team—is ever-mindful of ensuring safe, optimum-quality care for the people we serve.”

Sturdy Memorial was awarded an “A” for its efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S. Developed under the guidance of an Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign letter grades of A, B, C, D and F to approximately 2,600 U.S. hospitals. It is peered reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.
